Nancy Long brings over 20 years of transplant leadership to Guidry & East. She recently retired from Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City as Director CVOR and Transplant Administrator after a nearly 42 years of service. Her responsibilities included the heart, kidney and liver transplant programs, transplant business, transplant quality, heart failure, VAD and ECMO programs, as well as the cardiovascular operating rooms. Her clinical experience includes operating room nurse, emergency department nurse and heart transplant coordinator. Her program development experience includes transplant programs, transplant research databases, other program development, transplant outreach and building of new operating rooms.
Ms. Long is a member of ISHLT and AST, and has served on many professional boards, committees and workgroups including UNOS Transplant Administrators Committee, Operations and Safety Committee, and the Ad Hoc Committee on International Affairs. She has served on the American Board for Transplant Certification Board in multiple capacities, including President. She served as Chair of the Transplant Leadership Council with The Alliance. She is a past member and past Chair of the Advisory Board of Midwest Transplant Network.
Ms. Long is a graduate of Wesley School of Nursing in Wichita, KS and Ottawa University Kansas City. She has been a nurse for over 45 years.
Her work with transplant centers is focused on operational logistics, staffing and quality outcomes. She particularly enjoys working with transplant team members and seeing their passion for their programs.
Ms. Long worked with Guidry & East for several years as an independent consultant before joining the firm as Principal/Partner in April 2018.
