Transplant programs experience multiple situations where an Independent Peer Review may be indicated. An Independent Peer Review provides an unbiased look by a team of Transplant Administrators, Surgeons, and Physicians. Additional team members such as Intensivists and Social Workers may be added as needed.
An Independent Peer Review may be indicated at the following times:
• Declining patient or graft survival
• Program recognized need
• MPSC inquiry
• Team dysfunction
• Primary Surgeon or Physician turnover
• Program volume growth and/or volume decline
